About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Administrator (MySQL) to join one of our client teams in Bangalore. This role involves managing and optimizing large-scale databases, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance across mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in MySQL database administration, along with hands-on experience in performance tuning, scripting, and system optimization. You will play a key role in driving efficiency, stability, and innovation in our database infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, manage, and support MySQL databases in production and non-production environments.
• Handle performance tuning, clustering, replication, and optimization of databases.
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure database scalability and reliability.
• Perform backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for database tasks using Shell, Python, or Perl.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues to ensure system uptime and stability.
• Evaluate and implement new tools, frameworks, and technologies for database management.

Must Have Skills

• 7+ years overall experience, with 6+ years in database engineering, administration, and support.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience specifically with MySQL databases.
• Strong expertise in SQL, including performance tuning, clustering, and maintenance.
• Deep knowledge of SQL and NoSQL frameworks.
• Strong background in Linux system administration and network maintenance.
• Proficiency in scripting languages: Perl, Python, and Shell.
• Solid SQL development skills and query optimization expertise.

Good to Have Skills

• Knowledge of ElasticSearch and Redis is a significant advantage.
• Experience in managing distributed data environments.
