About the Job:

We are seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Data Scientist to join our team on a contract basis. This role is ideal for a professional with strong statistical expertise, hands-on machine learning experience, and the ability to independently drive data-driven insights. You will work closely with business stakeholders to develop forecasting models, enhance decision-making processes, and deliver scalable AI-driven solutions.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working remotely, communicating clearly across cross-functional teams, and operating within the Australia shift schedule. Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and modern AI/GenAI frameworks will be highly valued.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Develop, validate, and deploy statistical and machine learning models to solve complex business problems.
• Build and optimize P&L forecasting models to support financial planning and strategic decision-making.
• Write efficient and scalable code using Python and perform advanced data querying using SQL.
• Design and implement solutions leveraging Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
• Work independently to manage deliverables, timelines, and model performance tracking.
• Explore and implement Generative AI (GenAI) use cases where applicable.
• Utilize Vertex AI (preferred) for model training, deployment, and lifecycle management.
• Communicate findings, insights, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements:

• 4 to 8 years of professional experience in Data Science or related roles.
• Strong foundation in statistics and machine learning modeling techniques.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with GCP services.
• Experience building and maintaining P&L forecasting models.
• Exposure to Generative AI (GenAI) solutions (preferred).
• Experience with Vertex AI (preferred but not mandatory).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setup.
• Ability to work effectively in Australia shift hours.
